Taco Meat
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning or one packet
  • 0.5 cup salsa for moisture and flavor
Base
  • 8 bags Doritos or Fritos individual size (1–2 oz per bag)
Toppings (Pick and Mix)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or a cheese blend
  • 0.5 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup canned black or pinto beans drained and rinsed
  • 0.5 cup sour cream use squeeze bottle for ease

Method

  1. Step 1: Brown the Meat
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until no pink remains, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Step 2: Drain the Fat
Once browned, drain excess grease to prevent soggy tacos.
  3. Step 3: Season the Meat
Return to heat and stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Simmer for 3 minutes until thickened and well mixed.
  4. Step 4: Prep the Bags
Gently crush chips inside each bag, then cut the side open with scissors to form a bowl.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the Tacos
Spoon hot meat into each chip bag. Add desired toppings. Hand out forks and enjoy.
  6. Step 6: Eat and Toss
No dishes! Toss the bag and fork in the trash for an easy cleanup.

Notes

Prep taco meat ahead of time and freeze flat to save cooler space. Use a Thermos to keep meat hot if needed. For vegetarian versions, use lentils or seasoned TVP. Always manage waste properly by packing out trash and avoiding burning foil-lined chip bags.
tip: Don't have a packet? Mix this in a small jar at home: 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, ½ tsp oregano, salt & pepper.
